December 21, 2017
God created us to love, the knowledge of good and evil gave us fear and hate. Rebirth is a renewing – new again (newly created) – returning to the way we were before.
December 18, 2017
Where two or three or more are gathered in His name He is there. When I am alone with Him in my private place, there He is.
December 17, 2017
Church is who we are, not a place we go! The building isn’t the Church, it’s where we meet sometimes. As the Church most of us spend more time in the highways and byways than we do the building with the steeple.
December 13, 2017
No matter how good you think you are, when the righteousness of God clothes you like a robe your goodness becomes obsolete.
December 12, 2017
To repent is to rethink or change your mind about something. In matters of faith repent is to turn your mind back to God. Believe in your heart and speak with your mouth. The belief of your heart travels through your mind and out your mouth. Believe and repent / believe and confess.
December 11, 2017
Grace is more than the beginning of our relationship with Christ, graces helps define our identity in Christ. It is written, “My followers will be known by their love.” Grace removes the obstacles blocking our reasons not to love.
December 10, 2017
“Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil” (Matthew 4:10). “I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one” (John 17:15). “And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one” (Matthew 6:13). The Spirit led Jesus to be tempted (into temptation) and Jesus overcame the evil one. Jesus prayed to the Father to keep us from the evil one. In a sample prayer Jesus asks us to pray “Do not lead us into temptation, instead deliver us from the evil one.”
December 8, 2017 PM
Jesus has released people from heartaches and word curses spoken over their lives accidentally or on purpose – the key to the releasing manifesting in your life is forgiveness. The releasing already happened, but unforgiveness blinds one to the manifestation. Once I was blind . . .
December 8, 2017 AM
So many people are looking for someone to validate their heartache with a confession of guilt and remorse, and it may never happen. Forgiveness is releasing yourself, even if the perpetrator never takes the steps to seek forgiveness. Unforgiveness gives them the keys to your freedom.
December 7, 2017
The gospel message is one of love and forgiveness. Love is greater than faith or hope and forgiveness relieves strife. Faith or hope is not a reason to hate, but a reason to forgive. Love one another and share the gospel of grace.
December 1, 2017
I like reading the Bible, I find people like me – people who mess up – who miss God – who try to force the promises to come true – who need grace and mercy. Then I read about how much God has done to make us His righteousness in Him.
November 29, 2017
God is not the men or women who broke your trust with their religion. God is the One who gives us all grace in the form of forgiveness, sent out of His love in the form of His Son.
November 23, 2017
There is an attitude that goes with being thankful. We are rarely thankful for what we believe we are owed. If you give expecting nothing in return, you can be thankful for everything you receive. You may learn to be thankful for everything you give.
November 20, 2017
“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). If we forget that it becomes too easy to boast in ourselves. God’s love revealed to us on the cross and resurrection is the gospel given to the world. Salvation is by grace through faith that we have been reconciled to God (joined with Him in Christ and Christ in us).
November 19, 2017
Jesus came to heal those who need healing, to call those who have strayed, and to save those who need saving. “Jesus answered and said to them, ‘Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance’” (Luke 5:31-32).
November 16, 2017
Do you accept grace as a onetime pardon and from that point forward a person is perfect? Apostle Paul wrote, “For the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I practice” (Romans 7:19). We wrestle against darkness in high places continually. We continually face trials, and we continually do what we will not to do. Thank God His righteousness, mercy, and grace are eternal!
November 12, 2017
There was a time when charity and love were synonymous. When charity was given without expectations, and before charity became a political pawn. Church, love one another and love your enemy are not mushy commandments. As each one has received a gift serve one another, as stewards of the grace of God. That is love and charity!
November 11, 2017
“Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake” (Matthew 5:11). This verse is not asking us to purposely pick a fight, but to endure persecution and false accusation for the gospel’s sake; living in Christ and loving one another. The key is “against you falsely for My sake.”
November 8, 2017
The word of God is quick and powerful, sharp like a double edged sword. A sword can be a useful tool when used by skillful hands. When a sword is used recklessly by unskilled hands it can wound even those who the hands are trying to protect. The Spirit of God readies us by teaching us and producing in us love and the attributes of love.
November 4, 2017
Do not let anyone lead you astray, salvation is by grace and not works! Good works are led by faith!
October 27, 2017
“In Jesus name,” is more than a phase we say. We walk by faith in the name. Everything we do, we do in the name of Jesus. We are a people known by His name. Sobering thought.
October 23, 2017
Discerning the spirit is not the same as judging a person. We do not wrestle with flesh and blood . . .
October 21, 2017
“In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him” (1 John 4:9). The love of God is manifested towards us in life. A life was given and a life was returned, so we might live through Him who brought us the manifestation of God’s loving grace.
September 25, 2017
Try to be kind. We all get caught up in something at times, but try to be kind. Part of being kind is recognizing when we don’t meet the standard. Kindness is like wisdom in one way, if you don’t have it you can ask God for it. Kindness is part of love and is included in love one another, including your enemy.
September 20, 2017
We cannot force others to love one another. We can only encourage with our example, once we are able to love one another.
September 18, 2017
We want to celebrate the victory Jesus won for us. That victory is grace, life, and liberty. Jesus came so no matter what religion cursed you and condemned you, you are free in Him indeed. No matter what religion is still trying to curse and condemn you, you are free in Him indeed.
September 17, 2017
Grace and love regardless of differences has always been the road to peace, and the road too often untraveled.
September 15, 2017
Peter referred to grace as manifold (many and various / various in character). One gate, but many and various are those who come to the gate from many and various places various in character. As much as we don’t want to believe it, what works for you doesn’t work for everyone. When you’re hungry, food may be the answer but not always the same food made the same way. That is why there are various foods prepared in various ways. Share the many aspects of the grace of God. Share the Jesus that came so all the world might be saved in Him.
September 7, 2017
Wouldn’t you consider someone in the process of killing you as an enemy? At the least you would see them as someone who has chosen to be at enmity with you. Can you forgive them as they kill you? Can you take their correction upon yourself and keep them from destruction? Fear not, because Jesus has done that for you.
September 5, 2017 PM
Discerning a spirit as good or evil is not the same as taking on the knowledge of good and evil. One is a gift from God, the other is a deceived mind. One is battling against spiritual darkness in high places, the other is battling with flesh and blood.
September 5, 2017
A map shows you different routes to get to where you are going. A map does not choose the route you travel. A map does not tell you which route is right and which is wrong. The map does not tell you which town it is needful for you to pass through. The map, even the one written in the heavens, is a tool for the traveler.
We are fearfully and wonderfully made unique. God created us with differences, not so some would have the right differences and some the wrong. We were created with differences because that is what we need to maintain this earth together. We all share in being different. Our differences are as much our unity as our similarities.
September 4, 2017
Strait – narrow passage between two large areas. Narrow body of water connecting two seas or large areas of water. There is only one gate, but many paths leading to the gate and paths to travel once you have entered the gate.
September 2, 2017
I believe in Jesus, but that doesn’t mean I believe everything everyone is saying about Him. I definitely do not believe everything everyone claims you have to do to be a disciple. He said, “Pick up your cross and follow,” and “by this everyone will know, if you have love for one another.” Ever think love may be our cross to bear.
September 1, 2017
Jesus came to save people who hate you – as well as the people you hate!
August 29, 2017
When you search out the secret place where you meet with the Lord, look inside the temple created without the hands of mankind. Meet Him at the mercy seat in the Holy of Holies within the temple of His Spirit, made of clay by His own hands. The altar of fire has lost its horn. Grace and mercy is the cry of the day.
August 28, 2017
I had a vision of calamity averted by the prayers of the saints. It wasn’t the prayers prayed at the hour the calamity was coming, but the prayers prayed over the years and decades before. When the saints saw the pending calamity, they praised believing their prayers were already before the throne.
August 26, 2017
In the same letter Paul wrote, “all things be done decently and in order,” he also wrote, “it is shameful for women to speak in church.” It can be assumed we do not agree with all of Paul’s ideas of, “decently and in order.” In another letter he wrote, “There is one body and one Spirit.” The same fruit of the Spirit and gifts of God, who is not a respecter of persons.
August 25, 2017
Don’t use faith as a reason to hold on to your prejudice. God sent Jesus so ALL the world might be saved. If we’re not fighting against flesh and blood, then why don’t we stop fighting against flesh and blood. Love one another!
August 17, 2017
I dislike the “I’m better than everyone else” self-view, but the “I’ve had it worse than anyone else” is not much better. There is a lot of bad stuff in this world and a lot of good people. Bad things have happened, are happening, or will happen to us all. Sometime we react well and sometimes we react not so well. The objective is to love one another. Overcoming is loving one another through the trials.
August 16, 2017
We are not perfect, no one. There was a perfect gospel message planted one day, but that night an imperfect gospel was also planted. Perfection is not in our doctrine, perfection is only found in love. We were never to be known by our doctrine, but by our love. When we try to put love into a doctrine we add our imperfection. Love as He has loved, with grace!
August 13, 2017
One of the worst things about abandonment is the feeling of rejection. It follows you everywhere. You never feel good enough to be accepted. That is the worst thing about the abuse of religion. For the need of something to say every week; the message becomes more about what everyone is doing wrong, and not nearly enough about love, grace, and mercy.
August 9, 2017
Got to be real. When someone is having a difficult time that is not the time to say, “I knew it would catch up with you someday,” or, “You’re only getting what you deserve.” We have all messed up! Grace doesn’t say, “You got your comeuppance.” Grace doesn’t look at yesterday to determine the love you need today! Grace is for everyone!
July 29, 2017
You are given the authority to forgive and the Spirit of love to obey the gospel of grace. It is easy to condemn, but you cannot live outside of condemnation if that is what you give others. Forgive others and free yourself!
July 21, 2017
Faith leads to actions, but faith is in the unseen. When we see the result of acted on faith it is hope manifested. Faith is belief and trust in what remains unseen, continued hope in what is not realized. Faith goes into realized hope and hope is increased. Faith is increased when we continue to rely on what has not been realized. In that faith argues with our knowledge of what our senses reveal. We live by faith and not by sight.
July 20, 2017
Paul refers to life as a race to be ran, but we are not competing against others. If we finish we finish. We don’t have to try to push others out of the race. We can all win the grace race!
July 19, 2017
We are all searching. We are all on a journey seeking what we have never seen or known with our faith to guide us. Do not judge, but instead vow not to put a stumbling block in another’s path.
July 18, 2017
Grace is for everyone. People we meet may not be ready to believe that right now. Share your grace testimony with them. Encourage them to believe with words spoken in love. I saw grace in the one who loved me, not in the one who cursed me and called it a gospel.
July 14, 2017
Jesus came into the world to reach the world. He came off His throne to touch humanity where we live. He went into the temple to reach the religious and outside to reach the people the religious would not let in. He came for us all!
July 13, 2017
Loving the lost may make more sense if we remember, we are all lost without grace sent by God’s love. Do we choose who is lost by how far one has fallen? The arm of the LORD is not too short to save.
July 11, 2017
When you are in someone’s life to help lift them up, they may not be in any condition to help lift you up. If you don’t see the value in serving, it may cause you to walk away. Ministry has never been about, “What’s in it for me?”
July 10, 2017
You don’t really have to schedule a revival or healing service. When people gather to celebrate Christ and give God the glory, these things just happen. Where two, three, or more gather …
July 7, 2017
Gathering together has little to do with buildings with steeples and everything to do with people. By which every part does its share, and every part has a share.
July 6, 2017
It is not what you do for God, but what He does through you. The Spirit of the Lord dwells in people of faith, and that a gift and promise of God that He would not leave us orphans. The cloud by day and fire by night, the power, love, and sound mind, the seed of love, etc., dwells in you.
June 25, 2017
“As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God” (2 Peter 4:10). God has given everyone a gift. “God so loved the world that He gave …” Now share that gift as stewards of the multifunctional grace of God! Love one another.
June 20, 2017
I have traveled this country from shore to shore and border to border, and prayed with people everywhere I traveled. People would see me praying with someone in a park or at a gas station, and come and wait their turn. People asked for prayer in hotel lobbies and dinning rooms. It doesn’t take a lot, just make yourself available.
June 19, 2017
There are lies mixed in with the truth, it started in the garden planted by God for the first man and woman. There is misinformation in all knowledge of good and evil. That same bad seed was planted in the field where the gospel was planted. The master planted a field of good crop and that very night the enemy planted an unfruitful, even destructive, crop of weeds in the same field. But the gospel of grace survives – love perfecting imperfection.
June 18, 2017
When Jesus called God His Father, religious leader freaked out. He didn’t stop with relating to God as His Father, but He went on to show us that God is our Father. “Our Father who is in heaven.”
June 16, 2017
Everyone’s good works are not the same. Some clothe the naked, some feed the poor, some visit the homebound or those in prison, some give drink to the thirsty, etc. Everyone’s needs are not all the same. Some are naked, some are hungry, some are homebound or in prison, some are thirsty, etc. But we all have one thing in common, we are all in the world God so loved.
June 10, 2017
Mankind asked to have another man hear from God for them. Jesus came, God born into creation, to be that man. It was needful that Christ ascend so the Spirit would come. The Spirit came to be the breath of God carrying His voice to us all. Have your own relationship. HEAR! BELIEVE!
June 9, 2017
The gifts Jesus gave to mankind as He ascended, according to Paul, are for the Church, all the Church. Every part of the body has the gifts within to share the gospel (good news of grace) – to share the love. PULPIT NOT REQUIRED! We are not all teachers, not all pastors, not all evangelist, not all prophets, and not all apostles, but we all possess MINISTRY GIFTS.
June 5, 2017
Jesus came with a calling to rescue the world, Moses with a calling to rescue a nation, and Jonah a calling to rescue a city. Not every calling is the same. Do what you were called to do!
June 3, 2017
Loving one another is not speaking to the physical but to the spirit about kindness to and forgiveness of the physical.
May 25, 2017
When you cannot understand the heart of one that has harmed you and now is turned against you, remember the proverb, “a lying tongue hates those who are crushed by it” (Proverbs 26:28a). Do not hold their hate against yourself. Forgive them and be free from the condemnation. Remember to love those that hate you and to pray for those that use you. Bless those who curse, bless do not curse. (from the book “Earth’s Son” by Tim D. Coulter Sr. – available summer of 2017).
May 18, 2017
Worthy, having the qualities or abilities that merit recognition. What quality or ability do you have that merits you to be recognized by grace? None! Grace is given as a gift without merit on your part. Grace is God’s gift of worthiness to all mankind, so the world might be saved in Him. Shouldn’t we give grace to those we do not know as worthy?
May 14, 2017
“Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword” (Matthew 10:34), is not speaking of nations against nations, but members of the same household disagreeing about why Jesus came and if Jesus came. It is written in another place, “My peace I give to you.” It is the conflict over grace that divides households. It is assurance of grace that gives peace.
May 10, 2017
Without receiving grace I am lost. Without giving grace I cannot search for the lost. I may find the lost where I am, but I have no hope to offer without grace.
May 9, 2017
“And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us commandment. Now he who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us” (1 John 3:23-24). Explains itself, doesn’t it?
May 4, 2017
There are people dying all around the world from hunger, disease, and war. Saying, “It was prophesied,” doesn’t cut it. The same book told us to love one another. We are spending energy and monies on war that should go to fight diseases and feed the hungry. It is also written, “Where there are prophecies they will fail, but His love will never fail.”
May 3, 2017
Compassion is more than empathy, it is empathy with a desire to change things. He was moved with compassion when He saw the multitudes who had no shepherd (no one tending them). They had someone claiming to be king and people claiming to be priest, but they had no shepherd. He came as a servant King and High Priest without a religion to be their shepherd.
April 28, 2017
Now having chosen to steal the knowledge of good and evil, we do not have to use it to judge others as evil. We may instead use goodness to overcome evil within our self, and to repay evil with good – unkindness with kindness. What need do we have to accuse or judge anyone of evil if we return goodness for both good or evil?
April 27, 2017
It is not about our works, He has done the work required by traditions and the knowledge of good and evil. It is about loving one another, as one who has received a gift, loving another, who has received a gift. The kingdom is not the clothes you put on your own back, but the garment and robe He has put on you.
April 26. 2017
Repetitive salvation is why the Church isn’t moving. Loving one another is a daily walk as a redeemed believer. We need forgiveness everyday as redeemed believers, and we need to give forgiveness everyday to both redeemed believers and unbelievers. We need to walk in the salvation gifted to us, and not continue to walk around to same mountain of guilt, shame, and blame day after day.
April 16, 2017
Resurrection is part of life. He is the resurrection and the life. He who changes not is the resurrection and the life. Resurrection has always been part of life. As the Son of man it was a given that He would die once and then the resurrection. As the Son of God, in whom all things exist, is the resurrection and the life. He is both, the abused Son of man and the risen Son of God. He is both the resurrected and the resurrection.
April 15, 2017
“Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation” (2 Corinthians 5:18). At this time of the year I am reminded of the distance God was willing to go to bring us back to Himself. A ministry of reconciliation is a ministry of inclusion, a ministry that searches out the heart, and does not exclude the heart of God. All things are of God – GRACE IS FOR EVERYONE!
April 14, 2017
Faith without works is asking someone else to work their faith; the gospel message is, work your faith to serve, love, and forgive as you have been served, loved, and forgiven. Forgiveness is for the person who really did the act – Peter really denied, Paul really was a party to Stephen’s death, and we all have really fallen short. Grace is for everyone!
April 13, 2017
Mankind’s relationship with God is not the only relationship Jesus was concerned with. Love one another. Love your enemy. Do not return a curse for a curse. Do not lord over one another, but serve. Feed the hungry, clothe the naked, give drink to the thirsty, and visit the home bound and those in prison.
April 12, 2017
The righteous answer him, saying, “Lord, when?” The righteous are not keeping a score card of good works. Your righteousness is in Him who has prepared your good works for you that you might do them. Prepared, planned, provided for, and worked out as His good pleasure.
April 10, 2017
Jesus said “I was hungry and you gave Me food,” in another place it is recorded that He said, “my food is to do the will of the One who sent me.” He said that to the disciples when they returned from Sychar with food and found Him ministering to a Samaritan women. While literally He is speaking of feeding the hungry, spiritually He is speaking of ministering grace.
April 9, 2017
When Jesus said, “Naked and you clothed Me,” He was spiritually speaking of clothing people with grace and righteousness. The Son of man can forgive, so can mankind – you and me, all who were given dominion at creation. Jesus paid the price, the Lamb slain before the waters were divided and before the dry land was separated from the waters, so nothing is stopping us from forgiving.
April 8, 2017
When Jesus said. “when I was a stranger you took me in,” He was speaking of a foreigner. Someone from a strange land who does not know the God of the nation where he is a stranger. And he called the stranger one of His brethren (someone who shared a womb with Him). If not for grace no one would be a follower of Christ.
April 6, 2017
What servant is there who judges you under the law and themselves under grace? Who is it that claims their rights according to grace while they accuse you and curse you according to the law? Do not return a curse for a curse, but bless according to the desire of your heart. Isn’t it God who gives you the desires of your heart?
If grace is not the law of the Church, by what law is the Church being governed? Can you be known by His love and not be known by His grace?
April 5, 2017
Everyone wants to feel a little bit important. The truth is everyone is a little more important than a little bit. If no one else recognizes your importance that doesn’t change the fact that you are important. A tree falling in the forest alone doesn’t have to be heard for the importance of its existence to be true.
April 4, 2017
the righteous don’t keep score of their good works. Good works are actions flowing from love and not check marks on a task list, or advertisements during a membership drive.
April 2, 2017
Grace in all things include giving. Joy comes from, “everyone who gives it willingly with his heart (as he purposes in his heart),” not from the curse of the law. As Abraham did not give to the King of Salem from the law but as he reasoned in his heart; as Jacob made a vow from his heart and not according to an obligation handed down from Abraham. If grace blesses those who persecute you, how much more should you bless those who give – BLESS AND NOT CURSE!
March 26, 2017
Life would take on a whole new meaning if we could forgive shortcomings and combine strengths. I believe that would be true unity. Fake unity is trying to get everyone to be a cookie-cutter version of the person you see in the mirror. Love one another with grace.
March 22, 2017
Acts of love do not have to be perfect. Waiting until we are perfect to love is like waiting until we can read to learn to read. Love conceals a multitude of imperfections. Love perfects!
March 21, 2017
“The just shall live by faith,” is not a statement of our perfection but of His love perfecting us daily. “We walk by faith,” is a statement of His Spirit of power, love, and a sound mind (the ability and strength to have thoughts and emotions with ethics – to love beyond our personal moral code). We have a love that is more than the physical hormones that science can measure. We have a love that is spirit.
March 20, 2017
The penalty of death came with the eating of the forbidden fruit. Every generation since has continued in their own knowledge of good and evil. Everyone has sinned and fallen short of the glory God has given us freely, because of who He is and not what we do. That is grace.
March 19, 2017
Is a follower of Christ a person made righteous by self works or a person saved by grace? Do they maintain their disciple status with self works? Is what started in the Spirit, now being made perfect by the flesh? (see Galatians 3:3). Is the work of grace now overshadowed by dead works? Faith without works is a faith separate from the work of grace – the works of God for us.
March 17, 2017
People prefer hype over truth, lust over love, and greed and recognition over charity – we are forgiven even though we do not know – separate from the law of condemnation and death – separate from the law of payment to a grace freely given. GRACE GOSPEL!
March 16, 2017
In this world you will have tribulation, you will get hurt – you will hurt others. Be of good cheer, forgiveness has already been purchased, no cost to you. Freely given – freely received. Count the cost.
March 15, 2017 PM
Our righteousness is in Him, not in our own works or actions. His life, yesterday, today, and forever, completes our holiness. Separate from Him none, not one, are righteous. Removed from Him we perish. His desire is that none should perish. That is inclusion, not exclusion!
March 15, 2017 AM
“For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him” (Romans 10:12). It is written that Jesus said, “you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” The Way is not biased by nationalities, past or present. Grace does not check your pedigree.
March 13, 2017
Your relationship with God is not based on your family tree, no matter how far back you go. It is not based on membership in a 501c3 corporation. It is not based on your ability to perfectly understand one or all mysteries. Your relationship is based on His grace. Each of us is a work of art who He has made in His likeness and image and put His name on, forgiven because we do not know.
March 7, 2017
Integrity is a perceived attribute. If someone agrees with your opinions they may see you as having integrity. If someone sees that you are confident in and true to your personal beliefs they may see you as having integrity. Claiming you have the right to do whatever you believe without compassion for others may not be seen as displaying integrity. Integrity is more than beliefs, it is beliefs endeared with love completed by grace. Love is greater than faith!
February 16, 2017
The saying, “The road to hell is paved with good intentions,” is not scriptural. It is written, “For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells; for to will is present with me, but how to perform what is good I do not find” (Romans 7:18). Good intentions are present with me, but how to do good works I do not find. In reality Paul may be admitting that in his flesh there exist a knowledge of good and evil not present in his will (intentions).
February 9, 2017
Repentance has more to do with the turning to grace than it has to do with punishment. Correction is a change of direction – punishment is an attempt to force a correction in one who suffers the punishment, else to cause them to be imprisoned or perish. True correction comes from a desire to change directions. Jesus came to free the prisoner and to fulfill the desire of His heart that none should perish, and that is accomplished by grace.
February 3, 2017
Mercy – compassion for someone it is within your power to harm. The one showing mercy can do so without regard for right and wrong. Grace – blessings for someone you feel does not deserve blessings. The one showing grace does not regard wrong as a reason to withhold blessings.
“To You, O my Strength, I will sing praises; for God is my defense, my God of mercy” (Psalm 59:17). We often think of a defense as being wrath on our enemy, and David may have been doing just that. Sometimes defense is mercy giving us strength when we need both mercy and strength. Sometimes we are our own enemy, and when that is true we want mercy and not wrath. Love your neighbor as you love yourself.

We don’t love on our own to earn love, we were created to love and be loved regardless of our ability to earn or others ability to see us for who we are. When God loves us He doesn’t love us because we are covered with His Son, He covered us with His Son because He loves us. Our inability to love is directly related to our knowledge of good and evil – our hiding from God, who is love.
