Great is His Faithfulness

Through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed,
Because His compassions fail not.
They are new every morning;
Great is Your faithfulness.
(Lamentations 3:22-23)

The word translated as compassion in Lamentations 3:22 also means “womb”. Think about the compassion of God being like a womb. The baby in the womb does not worry about provisions. Great is His faithfulness! “The LORD is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I hope in Him!” (Lamentations 3:22:24). Our faith in not in vain if it is in His faithfulness. It is not our faithfulness, but His faithfulness, that assures us our salvation. Mercy is given because of who God is and not because of what we do or believe! Because the things we hope for (have faith in) are in Him, He adds them to us by dwelling in us. We dwell in Him like an unborn child in a womb feed by His life and cleansed by His blood. PRAISE GOD!

God loves you! Want to speak the truth in love? The statement, “God loves you” is truth to everyone you speak it to. God so loved the world that He sent His only begotten Son! Globally, God so loved the world, but also individually, “God loves you.” And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him (1 John 4:16). God’s love is an abiding love – a dwelling place – a womb, and also God abiding in us.

Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God (1 John 4:16). We know His love when we confess Jesus because Jesus came in His love, but God loved us before we confessed Jesus – the confession is our testimony of His abiding and being our dwelling place. Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love (1 John 4:17-18). As Jesus was sent into the world by God’s love, so are we. We do not have to fear the “day of judgment” because His perfect love has cast out our fear with love (the love that gave us grace). God loves you!
