the second is like the first

Hate as defined from the Hebrew word used in the Old Testament interpreted as hate, hated, or hatred means odious – that which stirs up hate, causes, or leads to hatred – an enemy or foe – producing a bad odor.   In the New Testament the meaning of the word hate is to detest or love less.   Hate is the absence of love. As cold is the absence of heat and dark is the absence of light, hate is the absence of love and/or something blocking or seeking to prevent love. Love is a Spirit and hate the absence of the Spirit. God is Spirit and God is Love. Hate is the absence of God! God has an issue with things that causes one to be separated from Him and things that cause one to hate another – He finds it detestable like a bad odor. That which causes, and not the person.

Destruction is the opposite of creation. Destroying is the opposite of creating. The destroyer is opposed to the Creator. Demolition is part of creation, removal of the old to create the new when the plan is to build up. Demolition is performed when part or all of something has been destroyed, or is lacking or contains more in some way than the requirements of the new. The process of demolition and rebuilding can be referred to as renewed.   Destruction would never be referred to as renewed, but as destroyed. As in leaving neither root nor branch. Renewing would be more like pruning to produce more fruit.

“Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place. For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing” (2 Corinthians 2:14-15). Christ is a sweet fragrance and we are the fragrance of Christ to God among the saved and unsaved. Even among the unsaved Christ is the same fragrance before God – not odious – not hate. “Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma” (Ephesians 5:1-2).

Nowhere is it written that God, Father, Son, or Spirit, is hate. Nowhere is it written to hate one another to be like your Father in heaven. It is written to come to Christ you must “hate” – even your own life – anything that would separate you from God – anything you would mislead you to attempt to save yourself or turn back from God for that would cause you to lose your life. It is written that God hates the deeds of some – the teachings and practices of some – but not the misguided being led astray by the destroyer or by the teachings and practices of the blind leading the blind. God is Love and God is Spirit, and He is looking for worship that is in Spirit and Truth – loving God by loving one another!

Jesus is the Anointed One. He is anointed to preach the gospel to the poor, set the prisoners free, open the eyes of the blind, set at liberty the depressed, and teach the propitious year of the Lord. Mankind opened the door of our dominion to the destroyer – Jesus came to shut that door and open a door that will never be shut. The age of mankind in the flesh is nearing an end. Nothing flesh will survive the consuming fire that is coming. The skin of the animal will not survive the fire, nor will the sacrifice of that blood cleanse you.   The first and greatest commandment is to love God and the second is like the first.
